Group 8 - Organ donation

"Organ donation" is group 8's topic of this issue. There were no background noise, the noice of the hosts and the guests were clear and loud enough, the pacing of the delivery was not too fast, so I think the quality was good. I like their background music, it was good. The timing of using sound effects are great. I love the way that they presented the advertisment. It was like a real advertisement, piecing the sentences said by different people, it was vivid!

Organ donation can be good and bad. For good, a dying people can survive. In contact, if there are some illnesses in the donated organs like AIDS, it is very dangerous, that would let the patient feel hopeless again. It was just like what the group 8 mentioned, there are only 5 organs can be donated. The chances of organ donation are rare. But some evil persons use this to make money. They "donate" one of their kidneies.....that was too terrible.

If I can do something to help people stay alive, I would like to give blood. I have done this since I was in senior high school. I think this is do good thing to other people, of course, my blood is healthy, or I cannot and not dare to donate it. Will I give my kidney to my family members?
If they need, and I can , then I will, but that should be my mom or sister......I hope that day will not come. I do not want to give my body to science after I die because I do not want to be cut.... I agree to register as a bone marrow donor and as a donor at an eye bank, but I do not want to transplant my organs after I die, I do not want to be cut...I am afraid of aching....
I do not have an organ transplant donor card. I am afraid of it now, may be when I am older, I will change my mind.

Group 7 - A Woman’s Place (Working Moms)

Group 7's topic of this issue was working moms. Their content was good, but there are some background noise and the background music was too loud, it was a little hard to know what they talk clearly. The voice of the hosts and guests are loud enough, but sometimes, some of them made mistakes of speaking, the voice may get fading. The pacing of the delivery sometimes was too fast. To my surprise, the music in the record was sang by them. This idea was very great, but they can record it to be much better, there was too much noise.

In my opinion, there is no difference between women and men. May be men are much stronger than women, but it does not mean that all the men could be better than women. The things that women can do, men also can do it. For example, cooking, washing clothes, washing dishes to the market...etc. Of course, the things like fixing cars, changing electric lights, moving furniture and so on, women can do it all, too. Women are not must to be housewives, and men are not must to work outside. Women can make money by themselves, too, not to depend on men. I do not agree that men are natural leaders. Women can be excellent leaders. For instance, the president of my junior high school was female. She managed the school well, she is a president of college now. In this era, women are independent, and have the rights to be educated. Women can be as well as men, even better!

Group6 - A Mother's Story - Capital Punishment

The topic of group 6's issue was capital punishment. This is a serious issue to discuss. The voice of the hosts and guests were loud enough, but the background music was too loud. I guess, they may get too closer to the microphone when they were recording, because there were some sharp noise when they talking, it made me feel unconfortable to hear. I could not hear and understand what they were exactly talking about. However, I like the music at the first break time, it was cute.

Capital punishment, there are some counties have abolished this terrible penalty, but I think it should not be abolished. Death penalty may be cruel and unfair to the person who is sentenced, then think about the victim, does he/she shoud die? However, I do not think every person who kill people should be all get capital punishment. They may have some reasons. For example, the person killed the victim may just to protect himself or other people or by accident, by real accident. Therefore, we have to think about the reason before we sentence the person by capital punishment. If the person killed someone was for the money, power, other things about his benefits, or the most horrible one - for pleasant feeling. I think we shoul give the person a serious penalty. If the the capital punishment was abolished, the crime rate may be increase, because people think "If I kill the people, I will not die, too. I will be sent to the jail only." That would be terrible, so I agree the capital punishment.

Group 5 - International (Long Distance) Relationships

I like this talk show very much! It was not only funny but also innovative. Their main message is international relationship of lovers. The voice of the hosts and guests are clear and loud enough, especially, they used the subtitle to let audiences know what they were talking about. I think this is a very great idea. It was just like a TV show! There were no background noice so it was not difficult to hear what they said. They did not use any background music, but I think their show was copious. They showed some short play then there were a doctor to give them some advices.

There was a couple that the husband worked in Mainland China. The wife was so lonely that she started to complain. I like the action that the wife used a gun to shoot her husband. Using the gun was funny and showed the wife's anger to audiences. They metioned the long distance between two lovers. The lovers were happy though they were not in the same and near place. I especially love the act of buying juice. I really thought the lady who sale the juice was angry when she said "What are you talking about? Can't you speak Chinese?" However, they just acted. It was so kind of the lady that she promised to play with them. In the end, they played the NG part, it let me know how hard they were to shoot this film.

In my opinion, the international relationship is not only about love. We can make lots of friends that come from different countries. We can learn about their local cultures, such as what they eat, what they wear, what are their values and so on . We also can learn some their languages. Though we can learn a lot of things from them, sometimes, we may not accept or agree about the things, like the religion. In love part, I do not think that every long distance lovers could be as happy as the couple in the film. They can only use computers, phones, letters to communicate. They cannot see each other right away. May be there are some people can bear this, but the examples I heard, they all broke up.

Group 4 - Friends and Lovers Self-Evaluation

I learned a lot from this presentation. For example, I learned how to accomplish an assignment well with partners, and how to express my own opinions to them properly. I also learned how to speak in a tone of podcast. I think our music and songs are very nice, but we used the songs in wrong sections, like "Why don't you kiss her." Maybe what we wanted to present to the audiences was not clear enough. The song that we put in the end " There's one in this world," we wanted to let the audiences know " Do not give up to search the true love, there must be someone waiting for you." But audiences may think "why they use this song, it is not related to this topic." I think we should consider this problem carefully when we choose and put the songs in right sections. In my opinion, the most serious problem is the tone of podcast. It was too monotonous! Some of us were just like reading an essay. Though we chose the serious part of this topic, we should still make it vivid. I also think our manuscript was like a story, we should find some points to discuss and provide some proof or suggestions by professionals. If we can improve these problems, I think we may be better.

Group 3 - Traffic Jam

Their main message is the problems of traffic, like air pollution. They also introduced how to take the transportations. I think they really do a good job. I like the way that they presented. That was really like a show, a TV program! They went to the MRT station to shoot. Two of them played the role of foreigners, the others are the host, passerbies and the reporter. I think this idea is innovative. The whole show seemed very natural. The sound of them was loud and clear enough, but sometimes it was a little difficult to hear what they said when they shot outside. The scene was also swaying when they were moving, it may make eyes uncomfortable, but I think it was very vivid, just like a record that was made by a visitor. However, it was too many background noise there. I know it is hard to avoid this situation when they shot the video outside, but if they improve this, it would be excellent!!
I think it was very sweet that they prepared the "microphone" for the reporter, it was good. The two passerbies played well too, the sunglasses!! But there is a problem of the expense of the bus. It costs twelve dollars by cash, but you can not get a free ride on Thursdays by using cash, it should be used by the cards. This is my experience when I took the bus on Thursday before. I do not think the bus would be late so long, or maybe that is because the bus that I take is fine, but I really think it is hard to count the time to know when the bus will come.

I think the expense of the bus in Kaohsiung is very cheap! In Tainan, the expense of the bus is counted by distance, so I very like to take bus in Kaohsiung when I go outside. It would not cost me a lot. However, the air condition in Kaohsiung is very serious, terrible, awful! I have to wear a mask everytime when I am outside. If I do not wear mask, I do not know how my lung will be! There are so many people ride motorcycles, even they just go to buy meals or go somewhere near. I think the Kaohsiung City government can hold some activities about riding bicycles, for example, riding bikes around the Love River on weekends. They also can strengthen the guidance of the decreace of unnecessary motorcycle riding. According to these, The air pollution could be reduced day by day.

Group 2 - Taking Care of Mother

The main message of this podcast topic is talking about when we grow up, will we take care of our mother. They also provide some solutions to the problem.

Basically, the voice of the host and the guests was loud and clear, but sometimes the words of a sentence was not continuous. There was no background noise, so it was not difficult to understand what they said. The pacing of the delivery was not too slow or too fast. They did not use background music and sound effects, but they chose a song to present in the end, and the song fit for this topic. I like the song that they presented, it is a nice song. I think the host and the guests could be happier, the atmosphere would be better.

In my opinion, I think we can take care of our parents when they are old, but it does not mean that is a responsibility. Therefore, this is not a responsibility for children. We can accompany them when they feel lonely. If we do not live with them, we can go to visit them on weekends or when we have free time. In a word, we let them know that we are always there when they need us. I believe they can take care of themselves, what I need to do is do not let them worry about me, and the most important one is to let them feel happy.

Group 1 - Forever Single

This is group 1's presentation "Forever Single." They provide some opinions of this topic.

The voice of the hosts and guests was loud and clear enough. There was no background noise, so it was easy to understand what they said. The pacing of the delivery was not too fast or too slow. They used some sound effects and background music, and it was effective. For example, when the atmosphere was funny, they played the laughter sound effect; they used background music during advertising. I like the atmosphere when they talk. The tone made me feel happy. Basically, I like this podcast, but in my opinion, I think the background music is a little loud. If they could turn down the music a little or the speaker speak louder, that would be better.

I think the marriage is not necessary, so it would be better to stay single. If I get married, I have to give up my freedom.

True Colors

Based on your interpretation of the song, what does "true color" mean? In your opinion, what is the story/message behind the lyrics (words) of the song? Can you relate your personal experiences to the song's message?

I think "true color" means our real thoughts inside our minds, and to be ourselves. There are many people who do the things they do not really like. They care about others' opinions, they don't or can't do what they want. It makes you feel unhappy. You will not smile, and feel happy sincerely. You may have negative thoughts. So, don't hide your real feeling, it is not bad to show it out. Once you show your own thoughts, you will feel better.

Sometimes, I care about others' thoughts, especially in a new environment. I'm afraid that I can not get along with others, and I do not know what to do is proper. Maybe I'm thinking too much, but how to stop caring about others' thoughts?

Terrible Tainted Milk

Oh~what a terrible news! The tainted milk, it is poison!! How could the businessmen be so irresponsible? They can not just because of the money, to make much more money, then produce the poison powder. It is selfish! They produce powder so they have to think about their customers' health. Especially the babies! Babies' organs do not develop well already, they can not stand this. The disaster is so extended, it affects the bread, cookies, soybean milk, and so on, everything that is made from powder. Now, when I want to eat bread or cookies, I always worry about this problem, because I am afraid of being sick, even the DEATH!
I hope this event could be solved as soon as possible, and those people who got sick can be cured and be healthy again.

The typhoon

I think this kind of natural damage could not be avoided, but the accidents could. Because the Central Weather Bureau will give us the prediction and information of the typhoon, we can do some things to avoid the accidents before the typhoon comes. When the typhoon comes, we should not go outside. Because the wind is very strong and it rains heavily, if we go outside, it would be dangerous. So, the people who go outside at this bad day should take the blame. Why they go outside? Maybe they have their reasons, but it is selfish! If the accidents happen, the government have to pay extra money to save you, maybe you will think it is merited, then, how about the people who go to save you? They are human, too. They also have family. They use their safety to save your safety, it is not fair! Just think about others! So, everything we have to do at typhoon days is stay at home, do not go outside.

Welcome

Hello~everybody! Welcome to my blog.
